PUNTA ARENAS - 1993-1995-2001

This Chilean city at the end of the world was the starting point for Bernard and Thierry on their trip to the South Pole. Located near the Straits of Magellan and Cape Horn, Punta Arenas is one of the most southerly inhabited places on our planet.

Just a few hours from Punta Arenas is Torres Del Paine park, with its needle-like peaks, including Fitz Roy, piercing the clouds. Nathalie took a lovely walk through the park as Bernard and Thierry were finishing their expedition to the South Pole.
